Children’s quilts typically are
constructed with little or no
embellishment. They are constructed
to withstand wear, tear and many
washes with no loose or small pieces
to come off with use. They are
generally smaller than full size
quilts ranging from approximately
36x42 to twin bed size,
approximately 66x86. Most are made
with bright colors, characters and
larger designs. Different fabrics
may be used to achieve different and
varying textures for small fingers. |

done using contrasting
batik fabrics with black
turtle bodies. I used
the same technique to
create contrasting shell
designs I created.
Quilting was done by
'stitching in the ditch'
around each design. |
